Our approach

A know-how

From our solid experience with the Montessori pedagogy, we are convinced that it can bring great support to many children with special needs. We use, on the one hand, the main principles of Montessori pedagogy and its material to allow children to use their full potential and, on the other hand, we call on neurosciences knowing that they bring significant benefits to the education of children with special needs.

The tools put in place are therefore meticulously adjusted in order to follow the latest discoveries revealed by neuroscience and the study of the brain. From there, an individual plan and follow-up are developed.

We work closely with families for optimal care.

The Montessori pedagogy

An adapted pedagogy

The Montessori pedagogy guides the child in his physical and psychic development and in his academic achievements while respecting his own rhythm. Taking into account the rhythm of the child is not only the fastest way, but also the most adapted to promote the development of an individual.

The Montessori method avoids the mechanical memorization of the alphabet or the learning of words or multiplication tables. On the contrary, it leads the child on the path of absorbed attention where total involvement in a task makes it possible to focus his mind and to grasp its concepts. This understanding comes through observation and experience.

Montessori materials are specially designed to meet the needs of each child. It can be very concrete and suitable for the youngest, but also more abstract for the older ones. It features an inherent self-correction and error-checking system that allows the child to check the accuracy of their work on their own. This allows him to continue to work more independently. In this way, in addition to becoming more independent, he develops his self-confidence. In addition, the satisfaction derived from the accomplishment of work by itself, experienced on a daily basis, leads to the growth of self-esteem.

As for the Montessori teachers, called “guides”, they give individual presentations, observe and listen to the requests of each child. Their main objective is to ensure that the child performs the steps correctly in a calm and orderly environment without being judgmental.

The child is therefore taken care of by taking into account:

  • A prepared environment

  • Bring the child to autonomy

  • scientific equipment

  • Experiential learning

Our intervention using the Montessori method allows:

Individualized learning:

The Montessori pedagogy focuses on individualized learning, which allows us to personalize instruction based on each child's unique, specific learning needs.

Multisensory learning:

Montessori activities use concrete materials and offer a multi-sensory approach to learning, which can help children with special needs better process sensory information and retain information more effectively.

Autonomous learning:

Montessori pedagogy encourages independent learning, which can help children with special needs develop their self-confidence and autonomy. Children can work at their own pace and receive individual support from us when needed.

Development of practical skills:

Montessori pedagogy emphasizes the development of practical life skills, which can be particularly beneficial for children with special needs who may struggle with these skills. Montessori activities help strengthen practical life skills, such as fine motor skills, coordination and organization.

Development of social skills:

The Montessori pedagogy encourages collaboration and communication between children, which helps to develop the social and communication skills of children with special needs. Children learn to work together, solve problems and communicate effectively, which improves their self-confidence and social well-being.

Also, the Montessori pedagogy encourages lifelong learning, which can help children with special needs develop their curiosity and desire to learn.

Neuroscience

The major advantage

Neuroscience research has shown that the brain is capable

to change and develop throughout life, which means that

learning can be enhanced at any age.

Neuroscience helps to better understand cognitive disorders

specific, such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, brain deficit disorder,

attention with or without hyperactivity (ADHD), or disorders of

autism. Research in neuroscience makes it possible to develop

new pedagogical approaches and learning tools

adapted to the specific needs of children. Indeed, by identifying the

differences in brain function, appropriate teaching strategies can be offered to each child. It is possible to better target the strengths and weaknesses of each student; offer them individualized follow-up and adjust teaching strategies according to their progress, which promotes their academic success. This makes it possible to adapt educational content and teaching methods, such as including the use of innovative technology, educational games and multi-sensory teaching methods (expl. The Montessori method).

With a better understanding of each child's particular needs, a more welcoming and responsive learning environment can be created, which also promotes greater inclusion.

Neurosciences therefore play an essential role in improving the education of children with special needs. They provide key information for adapting teaching practices, designing inclusive environments and fostering the academic success and development of every child, regardless of their cognitive differences or learning disabilities.

We use this knowledge to adapt our teaching methods and help children better understand and retain information.
